Full Circle Values

Although Full Circle Brooklyn offers pole dancing classes, the space and its offerings are primarily a vehicle for the values we want to see embodied more in this world. Our goal is that this space offers all who participate in it increased access to connection, creativity, and compassion. We’re grateful to have inherited the artform of pole dance from the strippers who created it and are honored we get to share it in all its power and evolution with our community.

Connection

Any type of movement can be a powerful tool for connecting to oneself. The unique challenges and opportunities that pole presents make it an especially potent way to connect to your strengths, softnesses, fears, and abilities in ways that encourage growth. By making the studio a non-competitive environment, pole also becomes an amazing way of connecting with others. In this space we cheer each other on, and recognize that there is no singular way to pole dance. By celebrating our differences we can connect more deeply as a community.

Creativity

We believe creativity is not meant for the few, it is meant for everyone. Creativity is a way of interacting authentically and artistically with the world around you. We offer different classes with a variety of instructors, in a variety of styles, and make sure the studio is approachable for students of any ability level. In this way we aim to create a space that allows anyone to use their body and the medium of pole to tap into their creativity.

Compassion

Living in a world of hustle and urgency often leaves us little space for compassion–for ourselves or others. By creating space where we can slow down, sense, tune in, or even turn up–we create more opportunities to find compassion and care for ourselves. That in turn  allows us to find compassion and care for others. In this space we want teachers, students, and friends alike to know and feel that those around them support them and care about them not only as dancers but as humans.
